Elevate Your Organization’s Writing

Every piece of writing says something about your effectiveness.

  • Does every document consistently represent your organization’s high-quality brand?

  • Does your organization have a Style Guide?

  • Do your citations provide the strongest legal authority possible?

  • Are your redlines serving double duty of conveying critical information while also empowering the writer?

Writing is key to success.

The larger your organization, the more important it becomes to standardize, modernize, and elevate your written product.

Whether drafted by a paralegal or a partner, every memo, letter, motion, and brief can be crafted more efficiently, persuasively, and concisely.

“Since the course, I have seen so much positive interaction between staff in sharing their approaches, language, style, and helpful tips on how to write.

Having sat through several writing seminars intended to improve decision writing, this is the first time I have seen a course spark so much collaboration among colleagues.”

Our Legal Writing Consulting Services are customized for your practice areas based on your writings. Here’s how it works.

We begin with a tailored assessment of your team’s written work. We invite you to submit your organization’s Style Guide (if any), and up to 200 pages of a variety of writings from all staff levels.

Next, we conduct a deep dive into these documents, evaluating for quality, consistency, style, tone, word choice, persuasiveness, concision, citations, and more.

Finally, you receive a written summary of findings, presented during a 1-hour Zoom meeting with your leadership or training team.

Based on our evaluation, we may also recommend:

  • A customized Style Guide. An absolute must for every law firm and legal organization. We will create a fully tailored Style Guide that reflects your firm’s preferences, practice areas, and writing standards. Delivered in Word format, your team will be able to easily search terms and continue to update it for years to come.

  • Half-day training (4 hours). Training will be based on our evaluation of the submitted writings. This session helps your team understand what needs to change and why. Organizational change can be challenging, so let us introduce firm‑wide writing improvements in a structured and engaging session for up to 50 staff. Training may be recorded for future use.

  • Full-day training (7 hours). This option is our half-day training, plus an intensive Bluebook citation workshop for up to 50 staff. Training may be recorded for future use.

  • Multi-day training (15 hours total). Our most popular training. Up to 50 staff start the training all together, but then we separate out the law partners and supervisors. Here, we get to the crux of what may be holding some writers back.

    • Day one is our full-day training.

    • Day two is for associates and “first-line” writers only.

    • Day three is for partners and supervisors only.

Only day one may be recorded for future use. In-person training is highly encouraged for days two and three.

  • Individualized coaching. Ideal for attorneys who want to become faster, stronger, and more persuasive legal writers. Submit any number of pages for review. We will provide extensive and personalized redlines and feedback during a 1-hour Zoom meeting.

“I’ve already started looking at my writing with fresh eyes and come up with ways to improve, and I’m really thankful for that.  I hope that some version of this is offered to new staff onboarding in the future.”
